Task 1 & Task 2:

口语部分的第一题和第二题，我将会用论坛里提供的9个topics这个方法来回答。很多同学都已经看过或者练习写过这9个topics。这九个题目不仅可以用于独立写作，也同样可以用于口语考试。


Introduction: 

These nine sentences can help you answer almost any question given on the TOEFL exam.

The key point to remember is you need to MAKE the TOEFL essay questions MATCH one of these sentences.  Sometimes it's easy, but sometimes it requires more work.  Together, I will show you how this can work to your advantage.

9 Topics:

Topic 1: what are the advantages of living in a big city, including eating as one of the advantages?

Topic 2: Best way/method to learn 

Topic 3: Your favorite style of clothing (suit, shirt, dress, etc.)

Topic 4: Favorite place you like to travel to

Topic 5: Most important national holiday in your country

Topic 6: The person you admire most and why (mom, dad, grandfather, or Grandmother)

Topic 7: A time when you used English successfully (either writing or speaking English)

Topic 8: Why learning how to cook is useful for international student

Topic 9: What is your favorite movie and why?

下面我会用几个具体的例子来分别讲解怎样用这九个题目来回答Task 1和Task 2。

Task 1: 

Question：

Choose one of your favorite methods to relax and explain why it is your favorite.  Please include specific details in your explanation.

I will choose TOPIC 4: Favorite place you like to travel to  

Why?    
-Well you're being asked about my favorite way to relax... and what better way than to travel?

Here is the entire essay: 

Because different people travel to different places, it’s hard to say which place is best. However for me, the best place for traveling is the beach. It is only just about 30 minutes from where I live, and we normally use the highway to get there. So I usually go to the beach to relax myself by enjoying the comfortable atmosphere and eating seafood at many of the beach's fine dining establishments.  

At the beach, there is a wonderful environment that can be relaxing as well as theraputic. It might be the combination of sand, surf, and pleasant weather that contributes to good feeling many have when going to the beach.  The key is that people can distract themselves with the scenery of a costal location, allowing some to forget about their troubles.  For example, last year after taking my final exam, I was depressed because I thought I did poorly. But after going to the beach for a weekend, I felt better immediately. Feeling the fresh ocean air, and seeing so many beautiful ocean sunrises, I was full of happiness. That weekend helped me to rebuild my confidence because being offered so many beautiful distractions, I did not focus in my worries. That might be a small example, but I strongly feel that going to the beach can help people relax themselves.  

Another reason why I regularly go to the beach is that I love to eat seafood, and there are so many good restaurants there. When you enter any one of them, you may find yourself in a culinary paradise, surrounded by an irresistible aroma of different kinds of dishes. With affordable service that can rival the finest restaurants, every time I eat at the beach, it's a memorable experience.  For instance, two weeks ago I went to a restaurant at the beach. Although I didn't have an appointment, the maitre d' not only found my mother and I a place to sit, but he also suggested a great dessert and where I should go shopping that weekend.  The impression give to me won't easily be forgotten.  

There is little doubt that more and more people will come to realize that going to the beach to relax themselves and to eat good food is really a wise choice.  All in all, although some people may still remain unconvinced, the reasons I have cited could at least make some more aware of the virtues of my favorite place.

Task 2：

Question 1：

Some college student prefer to attend classes regularly because they believe they only in the class atmosphere can they focus on the reading.  Others, however, believe that the best reading can only be done outside the classroom. Which reading method do you think is better and why?  Which essay?   TOPIC 2: Best way/method to work   Here is the complete essay:  Because different people work in different ways, it’s hard to say which method is best. However for me, the most proficient way to work is to cooperate with team members  as this  provides the best platform for success.  By cooperating with others, I can work more efficiently and have a happier time while being in company.   If you work in a team with others, you will be able to finish most required tasks more completely without having to exert too much energy and time.  When working in a group, work can be divided based on skill or interest, so there is a greater likelihood fewer mistakes will be made because group members need to focus on only a certain part of the problem instead of facing the entire task alone. For example, three years ago, my friend Jason worked in a team for a business company. He found that by cooperating with others, it was much easier to finish the work by separating assignment into several small parts  and delegating those responsibilities to other team members. And this certainly maximized efficiency by allowing for more time to focus on the finer details which has already been separated into small and simple pieces. And consequently he did well and promoted to become the youngest manager in his division.  This might be a small example, but I strongly feel that cooperating with others could help people work more efficiently.   Additionally, if you work in a team and cooperate with others, you will can have a happier time while working. I think it’s safe to say that working for a long time  alone  can be an uncomfortable experience, especially when one wants to relax or just have human interaction with others. Personally,  working by myself is something that I try to avoid. However, if you cooperate with others, that won’t be a problem. For instance, I worked in a team for a research project last year, and when cooperating with others, I could feel more at ease because I made a lot of friends on the team. Also coming to work with friends built my confidence and made me be more active during the research. And I’m sure I preformed better with my friends because the camaraderie inspired me and gave me the energy to work more diligently.   The benefits of a cooperating with others for team work cannot be understated. By utilizing an effective method of work, a person can get the most from their working experience. While the debate on which method of work is best will rage on, I am quite comfortable with cooperating with others as its benefits have bee quite effective.  Here is how to use it:  The best environment for reading can be found within the classroom.  *Now in my essay I focus on the best way to WORK, but you can substitute "work" with READ/READING :)  The best environment for reading can be found within the classroom. Question 2：

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?  Please explain your opinion.  People should always tell the truth.  Which essay do we choose?  TOPIC 6  Favorite Person  Ok, how do we use this?     Our favorite person essay talks about our father and why he is important, but the essay is asking if we agree people should tell the truth...  Because of this, we need to make some minor changes to the essay.  Answer:  In my opinion, people should tell the truth, and my father is the best example of this.  Because he always told me the truth, he made the biggest impact in my life.    Throughout the years, my father has been my best teacher because he always told the truth. When I was young, he taught me to read and write, and even to speak. He did this by always being honest with me, and because he was honest, I wanted to learn from him.  My father took quite an active roll in my upbringing, and consequently was very hands on with my moral education.  He taught me with patience and understanding, and he never tired of my mistakes.  He showed me by example that a good person is a truthful person.  Today I am a good student in my school, and I can't help but attribute my present status to my educational foundation that my father helped establish very early in my life.  Last, but certainly not least, my father is also one of my best friends because he was always truthful with me. Over the years, he has successfully made the transition from teacher to friend, and this has only strengthened our relationship.  When I am in trouble the first person I think of is not my mother or my friends, it is my father. Because he has always been truthful and always cared about my development, I know I can depend on him.  Also he consistently has time to listen to me and talk about whatever is going on in my world. This is the definition of a true friend.  

 
总结：

-在回答口语问题时，不必使用9篇作文中的所有内容。为独立写作准备的九篇文章通常信息量都很大，在45秒钟之内说完所有的内容是不可能的。你可以自己决定使用其中的一个或者两个甚至是三个论点。如果你的语速比较慢的话，可以只说第一个论点，对这个论点进行详细的论述；如果你的语速比较快的话，可以选择说两个论点。这些都取决于你自己的时间。

-这九篇文章并不能百分之百的回答所有的问题，但是可以回答90%以上的问题。使用这个方法最重要的一点就是使文章与问题相符，同时根据具体问题在内容上作一些小的调整。刚开始时可能会觉的需要一定的思考时间，但是一旦你熟悉了这些文章，这个方法会使第一题和第二题变得很容易。





Integrated Speaking
Task 3&Task 4&Task 5 

我将重点讲一下我的模板，以及怎样使用这个模板。熟悉了这些模板之后，他们会在考试中给你很多帮助。

Introduction：


In trying to prepare for the speaking section, conventional wisdom preaches that the tester should say as much as possible when answering the question.  By doing this, it is believed the speaker will mention "key words" that graders are looking for, and therefore earn a better score.    The problem with this method is that it does not account for the logic, grammar, and structure of the answer that is also being evaluated by the TOEFL graders.   What if your listening comprehension is not very good, or you speaking skills are just not up to par?   How do you deal with this problem?

Well, you need a Mo Ban that is well written and gives you a sound logical structure best suited for summarizing listening passages.   The speaking section is just a test of how you can present yourself to the TOEFL graders.  You need to give the impression that you understand and can speak English well, and clearly, not only repeat information.   Also with the 60 second time limit, you are being tested on how well you can organize an answer, and this requires using a very good structure.

很多人在准备托福考试的口语部分时认为考生需要尽可能地多做回答，答案中应该提及评分人想要听到的“关键词”从而就能拿高分。但是，这种准备方法所存在的问题是很容易产生逻辑，语法和答案结构等问题，这些也都是托福评分人在评分时会考虑到的因素。如果你的听力不是很好，或者口语还不是非常熟练，你怎么办？

是的，你需要一个现成的跟听力材料相吻合的模版给出逻辑结构合理的答案。这样的话，口语部分就变成一个你如何向评分人表现你自己的测试。你需要让他们知道你可以很好地理解英语并能够清晰地用自己的方式表达英语，而不是简单地重复信息。除此之外，由于只有60秒的时间，你如何组织你的答案也是被评估的依据，这需要你有一个完善的逻辑结构。


Also, the best way to give the impression that you understand what a person is saying is not only to repeat the main points but to indicate when and where whenever possible.   Far too often, mo bans focus only on WHAT and WHY, but this only tells part of the story.   Even if you can't remember all of the details, if you can at least imply that you were able to determine where and when (together with what and why), then you can get a higher score.  

For example, one should indicate:

-WHEN did the problem/idea occur and is it a recurring issue?
-WHERE did it happen, or did it happen in more than one location
(In some cases you can even indicate where it did not happen or would not happen)

In the following Mo Ban, I try to give a structure that will make you sound more professional, confident, and comfortable with your English.  Also I offer a place for you to give more details for when and where, even if you are not sure how to answer these questions.  

还有，要向评分人证明你能够很好地理解一个人的说话内容，最好的方法是不仅复述出主要内容更能说出时间和地点。大多数的模版都只关注事件和原因，但是这只能说出整件事情的一部分。即使你不能记住所有的细节，但如果你能给出时间和地点（加上事件和原因），也会让你得到较高的分数。

例如，考生应该提及：

-问题或想法是什么时候发生的？是否重复发生过？
-在哪里发生，是否在其它地点发生过？
（有时候，你甚至可以提及哪里没发生过或哪里今后也不会发生）

下面的模版将会让你在回答时显得更加专业，自信对英语能够驾轻就熟。并且，我会告诉你在哪里加上事件和地点这类信息，即使你还不能够确定要如何回答问题。

总结：

-模板中的有些部分可能在某次考试中并不需要，你可以根据实际情况进行删减；

-Task 3, Task 4和Task 5是对考生综合能力的考查。它要求我们能够对阅读和听力材料中的信息进行总结，然后对这些信息进行整合加工，最后组织语言有条理的表达出来。因此在考试中仅仅表达出尽可能多的信息可能并不能保证你得到一个满意的分数。这时候你还需要一个逻辑性好，结构性好的模板来帮助你组织语言，表现你的能力。这些就是我上面的三个模板所要表达的。尤其是你的听力不是很好，不能听明白材料中的每一个细节时，这些模板更能给你很多帮助。
